He thought to himself, “Wow, she’s so gorgeous she must be a flight attendant. I wonder which airline she works for?

Hoping to pick her up, he leaned towards her and uttered the Singapore Airlines slogan: “Singapore Girl, you’re a great way to fly?”

She gave him a blank, confused stare and he immediately thought to himself, “Oh crap, she obviously doesn’t work for Singas”

A moment later, another slogan popped into his head. He leaned towards her again, “The spirit of the South?”

She gave him the same confused look.

He mentally kicked himself, and scratched Lan Chile off the List. Next he tried the Thai Airways slogan: “Smooth as silk?”

This time the woman turned on him. “Exactly what the f**k do you want?”

The man smiled, then slumped back in his chair, and said, “Ahhhhh, Qantas!”

After only 7 years in the IT Industry, and also only through dobbing in our favourite national airline, I’ve finally got my name into The Register!

I did it by highlighting Qantas’ new logo which has been picked up in the article Qantas spunks AU$100m on ‘pterodactyl’ … the credit is at the Bootnote.

And for good measure, here’s my impression of the new logo, customised for the bloody cold city of Melbourne:

Wonder how long it is before they get upset and take my Platinum Frequent Flyer status away from me …

UPDATE: Yes, it wasn’t long, they went and lost my luggage a few days after writing this … *sigh*
